Having taken the bold step of founding a non-profit, we invite your support. Please consider offering financial contributions to allow Dharma Ground to manifest its potential in this initial critical launching time and for decades into the future. We are committed to sharing this “Natural Arising Clarity” approach to liberation of the heart and mind with all those interested. Generosity from supporters will allow us to focus on the depth of these teachings (especially in this precious time while we still have Phillip) and on supporting and nourishing this growing community. Every program that Dharma Ground offers is offered entirely by donation.

If possible, please consider becoming an ongoing donor, either through “Friends of Dharma Ground,” or, if feasible, through “Benefactors of Dharma Ground” (see details below). These stable, ongoing gifts will allows us the greatest security and confidence to focus on our long-term goals and aspirations. All offerings, small and large, are deeply appreciated!

Ways to financially support Dharma Ground

• Give monthly or annually and join our “Friends of Dharma Ground” community. “Friends of Dharma Ground” is a community of dedicated supporters that donate on an ongoing basis to sustain the organization. Any-sized ongoing donation is warmly welcomed.

• Give a substantial gift annually for a period of three years and join our “Benefactors of Dharma Ground” community. “Benefactors of Dharma Ground” is a community committed to deeply supporting and empowering the long-term goals and aspirations of the organization.

Tax details and EIN

Dharma Ground is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our tax ID Number (EIN) is 87-4506603. Your gift is fully tax-deductible to the extent provided by law and will be acknowledged with a tax receipt as a record of your donation. At the end of the year you will receive an annual Tax Acknowledge email, which includes all donations you made throughout the year to Dharma Ground.

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)

You are welcome to offer any donations via your Donor Advised Fund (DAF). Some DAF providers allow digital donations, or you can instruct them to send a check to the address above. Since all Dharma Ground programs are offered by donation, you can use your DAF to offer program donations and teacher dana; you can select this option in the program registration form.

Workplace Matching Gifts

Many companies offer matching gift programs, which can double the impact of your contribution. If you've made a one-time or monthly donation this calendar year, your company might match it. Please check with your human resources department to explore this opportunity.

Stock, Cryptocurrency, and other Asset Gifts

Offering a gift of appreciated assets, such as stock, has two main benefits. First, you can receive a tax deduction for the asset's full market value at the time of donation. Second, you can avoid paying any capital gains tax you might otherwise incur from selling the asset. This ensures that more of your gift reaches Dharma Ground. Retirement Account (IRA) Gifts and Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)

For individuals aged 73 and older, Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) must be taken from tax-deferred retirement accounts such as IRAs. If you find yourself with excess funds, consider a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

A QCD, also known as an IRA charitable rollover, allows you to distribute up to $105,000 annually from a Traditional IRA directly to qualified charities, tax-free. This contribution counts towards your RMD without increasing your taxable income, potentially lowering your tax burden and maximizing your giving impact.

Additionally, you have the option to name Dharma Ground as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other qualified retirement plans. For more information on how to proceed with these giving options, please consult your plan administrator.

Endowment Giving

We launched our endowment in late 2023 and warmly welcome all endowment gifts. Our aspiration is to grow the endowment to $10 million — an amount that would cover a large majority of our annual budget needs in perpetuity. Endowment gifts support both current and future generations of practitioners, ensuring this practice path remains available and freely accessible to all.

Endowment gifts can take various forms, including direct contributions, stock or other asset gifts, estate gifts, or any other form of contribution (see other sections on this page for details). Planned Giving and Estate Planning

You are invited to consider adding Dharma Ground to your estate planning documents to support future generations of practitioners. To include us in your estate plan, simply name Dharma Ground as a beneficiary.

Do you have an IRA, 401(k), life insurance policy, donor-advised fund, or other assets not included in your will? These are known as non-probate assets, and you must designate beneficiaries for them separately.
