Mariann Johnson

Board Member

Mariann Johnson is a dedicated Vipassana meditation practitioner. For over 25 years, she has regularly attended retreats and studied the dharma in community with others. In May of 2020, she attended her first Nine Bodies Insight retreat and deeply resonated with the wisdom embodied in the teachings. She experienced a profound sense of homecoming that continues to deepen and grow. She is most grateful for the generosity and guidance of Dharma Ground’s teachers and the support of Dharma Ground’s sangha.

Mariann currently serves as a Mindfulness and Wellbeing Instructor for the Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing at the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining the Center, she was an organization development consultant and mediator and worked extensively with leaders of Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Mariann received her MBSR Teacher Certification designation from Brown University’s Mindfulness Center. Since 2012, she has also designed and taught workplace mindfulness programs throughout the United States and consulted on the design of Mindful Leadership and mindfulness programs in corporate and academic settings.

Mariann lives in Minneapolis, is an avid gardener and loves the great outdoors, including snowy Minnesota winters.  As a member of the board, she looks forward to supporting Dharma Ground’s teachers and its growing sangha.
